Dorrian Construction Limited is the progression of a family business started in Letterkenny by Joe Dorrian Snr. in the 70’s, on his return from work in the construction & fit out business in New York. The construction of private houses and contract civil engineering work for Donegal County Council in the 70’s & early 80’s were the primary areas of activity at this stage. The focus moved on to developing housing estates throughout Donegal & Derry in the 1980’s, & 90’s.

Patrick Dorrian is the founder of Dorrian Construction Ltd.. He began working part-time in his fathers house building company while progressing to study a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering. He then joined his fathers company on a full time basis in 1991, assuming a Project Management role where he managed projects to the value of IR£2.5m in the early nineties. Upon his Fathers retirement in 1997, Patrick Dorrian formed Dorrian Construction Limited and formally registered the company in 1998.

 

 

Dorrian Construction Limited is a General Building & Civil Engineering Contractor. Initial areas of operation were in private and commercial developments. This progressed to public sector contracts and large scale civil engineering projects. Dorrian Construction Limited has built its profile to become one of the Northwest’s leading construction firms and has currently an annual turnover of six figures. Patrick Dorrian originally worked directly projects managing the day to day running of the works however due to the progression and expansion of the company he was joined by brothers Desmond & John in 1998 and 2002 respectively. This forms the core of the team with Desmond and John taking over the direct management of projects whilst Patrick is currently focused on the executive side of the business dealing with Health & Safety, Quality Management, Customer Care and Expansion into new operational areas.
