Main Contract

Duration – 6 Months

Client:

Glenswilly National School

Architect:

Description:

The Glenswilly NS contract was carried out in three phases in a live school environment.

Phase one consisted of installation of a foul treatment package together with upgrading the existing play area.

Phase two involved the replacement of the existing flat roof with a pitched standing seam roof panel. These works were again sub-divided in two areas while the school building was still in use. This involved extensive use of hoardings to protect students/staff from the contract works.

The phase three portion of the works involved the demolition of the existing General Purpose (GP) and staff rooms, and construction of new GP & Sports Hall, with upgrades to the mechanical & electrical elements of the build.

All works where carried out with the school fully operational. This required a high level of co-operation between school staff, design staff and contractor to ensure all Health and Safety concerns were identified and mitigated thus maintaining a safe environment for all stakeholders during the works.
